Commutative algebra (Kommutativ algebra), graduate course.

Svenska, tack Det finns en svensk version av denna sida.

Welcome to this course!

Literature:
M. F. Atiyah, I. G. MacDonald: Introduction to commutative algebra (ISBN 0201407515). The book may be ordered from Dawson.

In order to pass this course, you both should deliver passable home exercises, and pass an oral exam (mainly concerning the theoretical parts of chapters 1-4 and 6-8).

The lectures will be held in English.

More information may appear here during the course.

The papers I've distributed are:

the first round of home exercises, in pdf format and in dvi format;

the second round of home exercises, in pdf format and in dvi format.

The lectures will be most Mondays during this semester, 15.15 to 17.00; beginning on September 8. No lecture October 27.
The first day, I give a small overview, and hope to go through Chapter 1 to the section about radicals (inclusive). I'm aiming at spending two lectures for each of the first two chapters, and then one lecture per chapter. In all probability, this won't work.
